Character Information

Character Applying For: Saїx Teїwāz
Canon Source: Kingdom Hearts II
Character's age: 35
Race (Human/Vampire/Half-Vampire/Clan Hunter/Family Born Hunter/Independent Hunter): Clan Hunter
Ability (applies to half vampires and vampires only): (fine, but I'm using this to detail his weapon skills and fortune telling abilities) As a hunter, Saїx is skilled with all weapons, but his weapon of choice is the broadsword (which he has named Heart of the Moon). Though he does not look it, he is possessed of incredible strength, and can wield the blade one-handed (if he so wished, he could even handle two). Years of work in the carnival and forced labor in prison left him quite strong, a strength only enhanced by his Clan blood.
His fortune telling, while usually simply an incredible skill at reading people and telling them what they want to hear, has an element of true magic to it (particularly under the full moon). He often uses his cards as a supplement or focus for his tracking abilities. Even so, the cards are far from infallible and subject to misinterpretation.
Character Personality: Saїx is, on the surface, quiet, reserved, serious, and severe. Extremely well-collected and professional, he is a bastion of absolute calm. He can also be stunningly amoral and manipulative, blatantly using others to his own ends – in some ways it's as if he does not see other people as human beings (or vampires as people!), but merely as tools.
The surface calm hides another, much darker side – a creature of madness and absolute, unbridled fury, a thing which not only does not see people as fellow humans, but which delights in watching their pain.
Luckily (perhaps), it is exceedingly difficult to force Saїx to lose his temper – anything which would cause this merely makes him all the more cold. No, any loss of temper on Saїx's part is a deliberate act, a careful unlocking of the cage which binds the beast within.
Character Description: Saїx is tall, around six-foot. Neither particularly thin nor particularly large, he is very well built – extremely so for a man claiming to be a "simple" fortune teller. His long blue-white hair is usually kept back in a ponytail these days. His eyes are a very pale amber-brown, which in some lights looks almost gold, and his ears seem from some angles to have a peculiar point. His face is also graced by a peculiar X-shaped scar.

To vampires he affords no mercy, considering them all monsters.

Character Bio/History: Fifteen years ago, Saїx went by the name of Ïsa Dagaz. He was a member of a traveling carnival, a fortune-teller of some renown. He also did knife tricks and displays of swordsmanship. His wife was an acrobat and the star of the show, and they had just had a young daughter.

There was one night when a somewhat mad vampire was in the crowd, a little blood-starved and with more than a few strange romantic notions. Said vampire took a fancy to Ïsa's wife, and, that night, stayed after the performance. He approached Ïsa's trailer, only to be stopped by the fortune-teller. Ïsa was knocked unconscious by the struggle and given a nasty X-shaped scar across his face. The vampire then took Ïsa's wife, and fed upon her, becoming a little too enthusiastic in the process and managing to kill her. Though mad, the vampire was by no means stupid, and he worked to frame Ïsa for her murder, hiding the tell-tale puncture wounds. As a final blow, he made off with Ïsa's baby daughter, vanishing into the night.

Ïsa spent six years in prison before they finally proved that it was not he who had done the deed, though they never caught the one who was truly responsible. Those six years left Ïsa a changed man, jaded and bitter. He no longer believed that the courts had any justice, and vowed his vengeance not just on the one vampire, but on –all- vampires. He thus changed his name to Saїx Teїwāz – a name, he felt, befitting his new role – and joined the Clan hunters.

Saїx runs a small shop, Moonlight Sonata, which sells various incenses, books, crystals, and wands – most of which do very little, but some of which have genuinely mystical properties. He still tells fortunes, using the tarot and runes to peer into the bends of reality... but also uses his cards for another purpose – the hunting of vampires.

Role Play Examples
Sample Post (First person): Business – good. Have found another of the monsters. Came in for a reading. She suspects nothing. She will be dead before the moon sets.

Cards still silent on my daughter, and him. No matter. I am patient. I am relentless. I will find them. He will die. She will come home with me. Simplicity itself.

Sample Post (Third person): Filed. Categorized. Ordered.

Pale hands checked inventory, marking each one, making sure each thing was in its proper place. Bells, books, and candles, yes, all there; incenses, oils, perfumes, yes, quite. Books claiming to unlock the inner secrets of the soul, formulas for love spells that really did naught at all, each one shelved and arranged in alphabetical order.

Crystals hung from the ceiling, the smell of burning dragon's blood (which was, in fact, a heady scent derived from plant resin, not, as the name implied, the sanguine humour of any mythical beast).

The sign outside proclaimed that it was a shop of mythical and magical goods, things to cure what ailed you without the help of modern medicine. And then, a much larger sign in the window – "TAROT READINGS, RUNE CASTINGS, ASTROLOGICAL CHARTS, AND HERBALISM – SEE WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS, FIND A PERSONALIZED CURE FOR YOUR ILLS."

All fairly normal, indeed.

Only the broadsword above the counter was out of the ordinary – the plain but clearly well-cared for blade. It looked rather out of place amidst the crystal daggers and golden wands in the glass case by the counter. It was a simple long blade, with a guard that curved slightly upward (reminiscent, almost, of a crescent moon), the hilt wrapped in blue leather, with a great, round pommel. No pearls, no rubies, no crystals, nothing, just a plain, long blade. The few people who asked if it was for sale were met with a simple "No." Any further questions were met with silence.

None suspected just how much use the blade saw. None guessed that the taciturn owner of the store was a hunter.

And that was the way he liked it.
Any Questions? I CAN HAS CAKE?!
